- @Benjamin Chen Thank you for your advice benjamin! really appreciate it.
- At a glance - the artwork seems to be loading somewhat slowly, the speech bubble is a little crammed and I'm missing a little bit more story telling...These are just the areas I think you could improve on based on what I noticed. This is not to say that overall I do like your portfolio. It beautifully reflects your style and showcases your absolutely stunning artwork. It's something to be proud of, you've done a great job!
- @Andrew Diprose Thank you Andrew for your feedback! I will also check out on Wired!
- Some lovely work here - talking to the illustration not so much the website. Great colour palette. Some of the character faces and body shapes might benefit from refining. You should share wirh WIRED UK. It's a style I was comisssioning in my time there. Good luck.
- @Kathryn Brammall Thank you so much Kathryn for your detailed feedback! I will sort the problems out soon!
- Hi Chiara!First off I think the colours are great - nice and cohesive, with a strong and clear visual identity. I do agree that the text is hard to read, particularly in your about section. Consider using a specific family of fonts so that in the main body of texts you can use something easier to read, while also still utilising those more decorative fonts. The text in the about section is quite dense, and my eyes didn't quite know where to land. I would recommend moving things around a bit and consider where you want people to look first. I think I was first drawn to "recognition", when really I would likely want to read your about paragraph first. You have so much great info in there, I want to make sure people will see it!Also a small technical note, but when I click your sidebar image, it just zooms in, when usually this image is a link back to your homepage, and this can make navigation a little difficult. It is important to think about the flow and journey of someones visit to your site - how do you want them to experience the portfolio?I think your homepage is great and gives a strong indication of you and your work. Again, I think the classifications of how you have organised the pages is a little confusing. When I click "self promotion" and it takes me back to the same page I was on, I found it a bit confusing and wasn't sure what you meant. Perhaps call it "personal work"?And with your commissioned work, people often don't just want to see the final product, they want to know more about your process, so it might be good to have a look into making a page for each one. This is something I am still trying to sort out myself, but have been recommended it heavily. The projects definitely need some sort of explanation - doesn't have to be long, but just some context would be great.I think this is such a strong start and I really think you have done a great job so far! Feel free to message me if you wanted any more ideas or clarification, and I hope this helps you! Best of luck :-)
- @Jon Buckley thank you so much! It’s very helpful!
- I do find the font hard to read. That will work against you further when you add context to the full sized images.
- I think some context around the full-sized images would help. I don't know about making two distinct categories, i.e. paid/personal. Maybe mix them together, but lead with paid. I find it odd the commissioned work is so tiny. Getting some sort of text explaining each piece is helpful for SEO. Also if you have screenshots of the pieces in the environment in which they appeared, like web page or magazine spread? Good to include that in along with the bigger image. Also, have you gone ahead and added SEO to each piece of art and each page on your website?
