Could anyone offer feedback on my new artist website?
Hello Dots community!
I've recently launched a new artist website to showcase my recent artwork, projects and exhibitions, and would appreciate any advice, feedback, or (dare I ask) criticism.
You can check it out here: yellowbeanie.co.uk
Thanks!

- @Maryam Zahra Kazimi Yes, it can be a good strategy! As a designer, I recommend thinking about your audience and who you want to talk with :)
- Hey there @ɐɹoᗡ ɐuu∀ ˥ , thanks so much for this valuable feedback and advice. Absolutely, I think a lot more work needs to go into it, but as you mentioned, its operating more in the space of a moodboard deck. Thanks very much for taking the time! :)
- Hi @Jimberry and the Couscous, thanks so much for your feedback and noted! I apologise that you found it a bit overwhelming, my intention was to create a unique layout that I felt reflected my style and way of working i.e. hyper-stimulation/organised chaos. Your music sounds right in my wheelhouse, will be sure to check it out. Cheers! :)
- Thanks for your feedback @Louise Kanefuku, do you reckon the site wouldn't appeal much/at all to commercial galleries/clients? Perhaps building a more traditional digital portfolio might be helpful as an alternative site to re-direct such audiences to? Thanks again and please feel free to share your thoughts :)
- Less is More. Space it out to provide clarity
- Cool artwork but a little bit confusing. The messy style can be your style, just make sure you are not trying to reach out to conventional galleries or clients. And in this case, I would also recommend communicating it with a sentence defending the chaos.
- Really really like it!
- Hi Maryam,As Maciek says it's a bit of chatotic. Partly I get it, it's your style and the nature of your work but it would really help for it if it would be a managed chaos or a chaos with purpose if you like. It's very hard to understand where is the start, mid and end of the projects, what is your focus etc.. So as it is stands now rather feel like a moodboard deck than a website.I would suggest to try to get into the head of a viewer who is interested to spend a few minutes on the site but not more. So they have to understand at least in big lines what you made from in a few clicks. And potentially what kind of projects they could collaborate with you.
- Hi Maryam,For my liking the website ( and I don't mean the contect - just the layout and how it is presented to me) could be more readable. You have a lot of various content and how it is presented feel a little crowded and messy. The navigation of the website - categories, projects, about you etc are hidden in the corners and overlap the content (for example when you click on 'inspiration takes hold' you can't clearly see other categories) which makes it hard to navigate. Also I would like to see more description of project - in "what's the smell" I m not sure if I am looking at the instalation or projects bts? Also in "printmaking' and "instalation' folder - I wouldn't make these catagories visible unless I had something to show there.Again, I give you my own point of view and it doesn't mean it is the only valid one, but I feel that with amount of work you have it could be presented in way more clear and interesting way.I wish you good luck!Maciek
