Hello all! Has anyone had experience with debt collection internationally?

For context, I'm based in the UK, my client is based in the Netherlands. I've looked into their small claims process but unfortunately, the amount owed exceeds that, so it would need to go through their regular courts. I may reach out to a solicitor as a last resort but wondered if anyone had any advice as I'd really like to avoid having to pay a solicitors fee to chase the money owed to me if possible.
