Hello community. If you have some time to spare I would love to get your feedback on my portfolio. It will be very helpful. Thank you!

I hope you are all doing well and dealing okay with the current situation. I hope that we will come out stronger after all this ends. My name is Yiannis, a final year graphic design student at DJCAD Dundee.

I would like to ask you if you have time and want to take a look on my portfolio ( here is the link: yiannis.design ) and give me some feedback (please be brutally honest, it will be very helpful). Thank you for your time and for reading this. :)

  • I like the straight-forward structure and that your work shines.

The leading statement though is more about you than it is how you can help/serve others. Potential clients care about themselves and what you can do for them. Maybe lead with the "solutions" sentence first before the personalized info?

The project pages are strong: they show the problem and the solution, research and sketches, etc mixed with high quality mockups. Some projects have repetitive imagery so just remember that it's okay to have fewer images - a few impactful images may be better than a whole lot of mediocre ones.
  • Hi Yiannis,
I am a junior designer as well and still learing. Here is what I think you can consider:
    1) I really like your work and the site structure. You could add your process to how you design.
    2) Cleary you are design choice are very thought out. make them standout.
Hope this helps and good luck with work.
  • Hi Ioannis,

I like you site, and the works you showcase, nice design works. One small problem, when I am in landing page, the down arrow is crossing hero text.
  • @Mikhail Shumakov That's will be very helpfull. Thank you! I also thpought about personal branding but I wasn't 100% sure for this. I am already working on it . Thanks again for your comments (there were very helpfull) and for taking the time. :)
  • Perhaps you could have a photo of yourself in the About section to make it more personal?

The grid layout with labelling works well!
  • Hey Ionnais, great to see such a clear, well-documented portfolio, really clean presentation throughout and your site is easy to navigate (no dead ends, nice!). I would consider making your 'about' section read a little less like a cv and more as a personal statement - who are you, what kind of work do you want to be doing, what drives you? Perhaps a good project in these strange times would be to amp up your personal branding too. Your site is really clean, which is fantastic, so you've got a great foundation to let more of your personality shine through visually. All in all great work! I'm currently revamping my portfolio too and I'm happy to share some of the feedback I've gotten.
