Hello! Does anyone have any networking tips on getting your music noticed by labels during Covid-19 and breaking into the industry?

  • @Kenny Vaughan Also, just to add, Coronavirus just means people are spending more time on their phone and in the internet space. I think it is often underestimated that you can make friends online, and if that is a more convenient relationship to maintain at this point in time, it's a great time to not shy away from your digital presence. Take care!
  • Hey, I agree with everything that @Oberon Night-East said in the below post (nice to meet you too!)

@Elisa Benaggoune Could I ask why you feel you need a record label to break into the industry? I think good management companies with consistent contextual and appropriate ideas that know what they own can do better than abiding by the rules of a record label, such as ensuring bottom lines being met that could result in creative limitations.

Authentic, ground up growth has proven to do very well consistently in the new digital eta. We can use examples of Billie Eilish 2015 'Ocean Eyes' and also xxxtentacion's 'Look At Me' by letting the story of the artist unfold in time and maintaining real life communication with the community of fans.

This isn't as sexy as landing a record deal, but if you want to keep a higher margin, ownership and have a sustainable presence, that would be my recommendation - Do as Oberon said, but be prepared to do it for yourself and recycle income into future promotion.

    Best of luck!
