- Hello again thank you so much for all the advices and replies to my question!!! just and update... I have decided to go with Cargo in the end as the design freedom that i had give se an aesthetic closer to my taste.here you can take a look of the result.https://arisakritidis.com/Still have to do some work on it but this is it preety much!!
- @Simon Kuhn thanks Simon that’s very true
- @Aris Akritidis no problem! Keep going and I think you’ll get there. I also agree with everything Simon mentioned. If you’re after just an online folio and don’t need any of the online analytics that Squarespace provide; I think cargo will certainly do the job for you! If you need any more help feel free to message me :)
- @Aris Akritidis I use cargo for my personal site and I way prefer it to Squarespace, there's just so much flexibility. I use Squarespace for basic websites, it's really easy to use. I'd say its more directed toward small businesses like restaurants etc.If you're basing your decision on aesthetics, Squarespace often has a generic feeling to it while Cargo has a bit more of an individual approach. I'd say don't get too bogged down in those details and pick the one that lets your work do the talking!https://sssimon.co.uk
- @ɐɹoᗡ ɐuu∀ ˥ thank you So much for the comment. My issue is that I have already spent so much time working on cargo building new website but am not sure if I want to make the transition. I saw all the SEO tools of squarespace but i have my website since 2015 and i have never used them. My website is more like a portfolio and I am not expecting to appear in front pages of search engines. :)
- @Jack MacKinnon Hey Jack Thank you for that!!! I am working more than 10 days now on Cargo building a website and obviously i am facing several issues with adjustments. but of course I have no idea about codeing so I have to search all the time for solutions. but the fact is that still feel more flexible with cargo and I am bulding a website-portfolio that I really like. not sure If i ever gonna take advantage of all the features that both platforms offering so I am moving forward mostly based to aesthetics.
- Hey Aris,I recently made the transition from Squarespace to Cargo earlier this year for both my personal website and my small businesses website. I can say I much prefer Cargo for the flexibility and think it's a much better suited to what I am after. I found it pretty easy to wrap my head around after a bit and am pretty comfrotable with what it can do. I would be more than happy to chat about pros and cons of each platform as I definitley think Cargo doesn't suit everyone!
- Hi Aris,I personally would recommend to check out some more options fi. Readymag and Editor-x. Squarespace is literally the most limited option when it comes to design the site, they simply been good on advertising. However they have tools for fi. SEO what I don't think Cargo does.In case of pros and cos I would recommend to search on youtube, I'm sure there is someone wo made a video to compare or what features you should look for.
