If you're talking about events hosted here on The Dots, organisers run their sessions via a variety of channels; some use Zoom, and others will use something like Google Meet or BlueJeans. 
In any case, it's best to check the details in the event, as some will automatically send you a link to the platform hosting the webinar but for others you need to sign up externally on their own website to guarantee attendance.
