Hi! Anyone has some time to drop some feedback?
I'm an illustrator, and I need some constructive feedback from you. I'm actively looking for collaborations; magazines, publications, etc. Would you kindly share some advice on how to make the portfolio better and punchy for commercial work, please?
Here's my instagram portfolio https://www.instagram.com/heedayahlockman
thank you x

- @Tina Bernstein thank you for your feedback! These are very helpful, and defo would make some changes to make my feed and branding more cohesive.
- Hi Heedayah,I look for the following when perusing Illustrator’s IG’s:1. A strong individual style2. Individual posts that stand out and grab my attention3. Sophisticated mark makingIt’s all rather subjective because different people/clients will look for different things. The 1st thing I noticed was your profile.Maybe instead of saying: Fancy working together?... you could say: open for commissions/collaborations.Also GLA based. Not everyone will understand this. Maybe UK based.Personally - as I said this is subjective - your figures/humans like from post on June 10th are great and I like them the best. Freeing up your style (which is very graphic) will only improve everything. You are very talented so keep growing in your style.I also feel you would benefit from learning more about colours and colour combinations. It is a complex subject and many digital artists only use what’s presented in the digital design packages. Yet one learns most about colours by actually painting and using them IRL. I would recommend you get the following book: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dictionary-Color-Combinations-Various/dp/4861522471/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=japanese+colour+combinations&qid=1625900139&sprefix=japanese+coloue+combination&sr=8-1
- @Deepey thank you so much for your feedback! it's quite helpful, and I'm currently in the process of making a website atm and putting some client and passion works. And yes, i love drawing food! For now I have worked with a few food magazines, and looking forward to collaborate more in future.
