Hi does anyone have any advice on getting models changed on locations for a very low budget shoot?

As a new stylist I’m not too sure what the “proper” thing to do is... Would appreciate any advice! Thanks xxx

  • If the model is comfortable with it typically i use local restaurants, bars or coffee shops most of the time they're happy to let you use them!
  • @Emily Morgan thanks so much! That was soooo helpful! That’s what I’ve done in the past but I’ve got my first commissioned shoot this weekend, just wanted to make sure!
  • Hey Kesia!

I'm a photographer and this is always one of many tricky aspects of shoot outside (along with the great weather the UK has! ) If the location is in a street or in built up areas, I get my models to change in toilets of coffee shops, restaurants, places like that to ensure the models have the privacy they need. (I'm unsure if this will be allowed due to the pandemic :( ) . For quick changes or if you are no where near a built up area, bring a sheet and ask another memeber on the shoot to hold the sheet up too again, ensure the models privacy (I always pack one in my suitcase!). You can also buy pop up changing booths that fold up, I believe too. Either way, ensuring your model(s) have as much privacy as possible is good practise. Obviously everyone has different methods but I hope this helps a little! x
