Hi. Since COVID, there's been a real lack of jobs in photography. Anyone else experiencing the same?

Think there's been a spike in new photographers since COVID. Fewer jobs, more competition.

  • Yes unfortunately but, I've been using this time better myself not just in terms of photography but my mentality and thought process. My advce more than anythnig is to do some reading; self-help etc
  • To be honest, there’s always been competition. There are a lot of us around (as you would find in any creative field).
However, there are things that are worth doing for when we come out of Covid. I've been starting to research the brands I'd like to work with, for example. On the same subject, I'm planning editorials that I intend to use as an opportunity to create the sort of work I want use to pitch to those very same brands.
Also, trying to get better at using Linkedin (something I've long neglected!) to establish connections and research the people I want to contact who I hope to build relationships with, with a view to working with in the future.
Even reworking my website (and getting feedback) has felt productive since we went into lockdown.
