I am a recent graduate and would love some feedback on my website and projects! Thank you, Phoebe :)

I have a background in Graphic Branding but see myself as more of an overall Graphic Designer with an interest in Illustration.

  • Hi Phoebe,

For a recent graduate, it's a solid portfolio and a good variety of skills being showcased. My advice is to try not to cram too much into it (which can always be very tempting), but rather focus on projects that will likely show off the relevant skills for whatever position it is you aspire to get.

In your case, I can see you're good at illustration and motion design (some highly demanded skills, particularly the latter) so I would maybe put any project relating to it in the spotlight. I would move your personal illustration projects (they are very eye-catching) as well as the BBC music gifs, to the 'WORK' section of your website. Most employers tend to focus 80-90% of their attention on a candidate's "work", compared to their side-projects.

And lastly, whatever piece best showcases the peak of your skills should be pushed to the top: your Marmite animation (very cute by the way) deserves to be higher up IMO :)

Best of luck to you, and if you ever need any further feedback don't hesitate to get in touch!
  • A really nice portfolio of work, well done! The first two projects are some of my favourites! You really flesh out your projects which gives makes them even more genuine. I viewed your website on my phone and everything looked and worked great!
  • Well done you! It looks great.

What about displaying the most eye-catching (or the ones you're most proud of) projects first, as well as the brands that your target clients will recognise best? You could rearrange the projects and bring Liberty and Art Fund to the front on the main page.

Also, I love your portfolio account on Instagram which gives a glimpse into your work and inspirations. Maybe link this instead of your personal Instagram?
