I am looking to work with a t-shirt designer to create a range of t-shirts for men and women based on Japanese prints with a twist.

I am looking for someone familiar with Ukiyo-e and who appreciates their uniqueness and beauty. Someone passionate about prints in general would work best.

A good knowledge of t-shirt printing processes is required together with understanding of how designs can be transferred to sustainable garments.

  • Hi Yulia,

I'm interested working with you on designing Ukiyo-e styled t-shirts for both men and women.

I just finished my MA in Print at Royal College of Art and have experience of working with printmaking techniques (primarily woodcuts such as Ukiyo-e). I would be curious to create a series of handmade woodcuts/ linoleum cuts to create the designs for the shirts!

Currently, my portfolio is my instagram: @zak.al

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    All the best,
    Alice
  • Hi Yulia,
This sounds amazing and I would love to hear more about it! I love making designs for shirts/merch. Doing so I sometimes focus on very intricate and detailed pieces while sometimes, it's more minimalistic. Ukiyo-e is one of the most beautiful art genres in my opinion and I draw a lot of inspiration from it, so I would love to help with this project!

  • Hello Yulia
Hope you are good! I am a fashion and graphic designer from Argentina.
As a senior kids designer I was in charge of designing the complete collection for kids from 2 to 8 years old as well as preteens from 8-16 years old.
Also, I am designing for the men´s and women´s collection.

In the company we had WGSN fashion services as well as I used to travel to Pitti Bimbo on many occasions to research fashion trends.
Actually, as a freelance designer I get my inspiration from e –commerce brands, instagram, pinterest, fashion blogs and digital fashion magazines.
The Argentinian style is very similar to European designer  brands mixed with some USA commercial items.
For the design process I like to create mood boards with pictures, illustrations and prints adding some suggestion of fabrics for tops or bottoms.
The mood board has also a color pallete suggested in the board with Pantone references.
In a  capsule collection I also do allover designs , embroideries and print placements .
    Proficient at Illustrator and Photoshop.
