I’m a recent graduate trying to secure a job within a production company. Finding a mentor working in HETV and film would be a dream!

Help with my CV and Cover Letter would be greatly appreciated too.

  • Hey Elena, sounds simple, but maybe make a list from LinkedIn and Twitter of the Heads of Production or whomever you think the decision makers are. Resist the temptation to ask for a job in the short term, but just listen to what they say on their socials. What do they comment on? What do they like? What do they write about? Then gradually start to comment on their posts and add some of your own opinions and even a link to a useful related article you've found. Do that every day then you may find they respond to your comments and a dialogue has started. Also, typically if you ask for a job, you will get advice. If you ask for advice you may get more traction towards a role. Check this video too: https://youtu.be/Zv2Hz-WDE6A
  • Hi Elena!
I'm a filmmaker with lots of experience making all sorts of digital content, but not uiqte HETV - yet ;)
What sort of role are you looking for exactly? Something in the production office or do you want to be on set?
Most people who work in the industry are freelance in some capacity unless they have more of a producer/development position in which case they would work for a specific company.
I can take a look at your CV/cover letter if you're interested?
    Thanks
