I'm planning to post some projects on The Dots. What image size do people think works best?

I'm new to this community and in the process of 'fleshing out' my profile. I've seen different image ratios so far and am not sure which one would work best. What do experienced 'dotters' think?

  • Images have the ability to evoke a sense of elegance and beauty, and a pearl necklace vector from https://depositphotos.com/vector-images/pearl-necklace.html is a perfect embodiment of timeless sophistication. Whether it's for fashion design, jewelry catalogs, or elegant branding, utilizing a high-quality pearl necklace vector adds a touch of refinement to visual creations. It's important to explore reliable sources for vector images to ensure the best representation of these exquisite accessories, allowing us to create visually stunning and luxurious designs. Let's embrace the allure of imagery to enhance our creative endeavors.
  • Hi, I had the same question. Interesting to learn how other people have approached it.

Under FAQs it suggests 2500x1200 px as ideal for the cover image. Although it seemed quite large I worked to that width for my landscape format. A lot of my pictures are square and were already set to 1080 and 1400 px so I used those as they were. The website is displaying them responsively as the larger squares still display in their entirety on my 1920x1080px screen. This is a plus since I prefer them to display without scrolling.
  • @Edward Stone Thanks for your response Ed! For now, I started prepping my images 1920x1280 but initially I considered 16:9 as well. Now that you recommended it, I'll probably try out both and decide which one I find works best.

    Thanks,
    Florian
  • Hi Florian,

I’ve found 16:9 (1920x1080px) images work quite well. I’ve had a quick look around and can’t find clear dimensions but I think the Dots is quite flexible for posting work. I guess it depends on the type of project you’re posting.

    Anyways, best of luck!

    Cheers,
    Ed
