  • Thank you May that's so helpful- would you reccomend putting research boards into my portfolio?
  • Hi Tabby,

Firstly, congratulations on your new path. :)

I haven’t worked in sports apparel however I can suggest some tips which might be useful to get a job.

    - Directly e-mail the HR Manager. Try to find the name of the manager via LinkedIn etc. even if you cannot find the e-mail at least to subject write To Attention of ..

    - Write a good cover letter which shows what value you can bring to company as well as summarizing your skills. Get a good template with professional sentences but specialize it for every company.

    - Prepare a small capsule work only for that brand which shows that you can bring a new value to their work. (maybe only do this to the ones which you want most to work with)

    - For portfolio; most of the times it is said that companies only check the first 3 pages of portfolio at first step. Which means it’s better to present a super bold portfolio that sneak peaks and definitely gets attention even with the first 3 pages.

    - For Jr.s it is important to show that you are really good at researching (depends on originality of brand it becomes more important, some brands even ask at interviews that where do you collect or search your images)

I hope you can get a nice job!

    Best regards,
    May
