I've recently finished my website/online portfolio, I'd love some opinions and feed back! https://www.mollysaundersdesign.com/

  • Reall nice looking website!
I have a few suggestions coming from a web design / UI point of view:

    • Your main body text and links share the same colour so it's hard to tell what are links / clickable / interactive and what is static.
Suggestion: change body text colour to a different shade / dark grey, and leave the colours to the links / headers (keep to the 60/30/10 rule)

    • Your link pointing towards The-Dots at the bottom of your website doesn't point to your profile, it only points to the homepage feed.
Suggestion: change the URL on the link to your profile link: https://the-dots.com/users/molly-saunders-785481
  • I really liked it. I loved the overall feel of the site - the colours and textures are pleasing. It was easy to navigate and I got the information about your work without any hitches. All in all - good
  • @Catharine Snell "squeezing eyes" or defocusing (crossing eyes a little) also work as your suggested method :D
  • Hi Molly. This is a good start. I would make a comment on the Have Your Cake and Eat it campaign - the first two are good - suggestive and fun without being course. The third, the one that is featured on your main page of the doughnut - needs to be reworked a bit - the text, particularly the word Cake is almost illegible. The photo is good, but maybe flip the image??
A trick I was taught, (many moons ago when the world was young) is to print it off on an A4, place it on the ground and take 4 steps back. Can you read it now? This technique will also help to determine if colours, which often work on screen, will work in the reflective space of print.
    Good luck!!
