- @Sade Lawson Thanks mam
- That's exciting! I would suggest building a list of clients you already have and potential new clients/clients you want to work with. Being proactive is key when freelancing. Following up with people even if there is no job at that moment and making sure people know you are available for work.
- @Laura Hurst thanks Laura I will take a look!
- @Robyn Keet Thanks Robyn!
- Hey Sarah, some advice in here - hope it helps:https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/work-get-vikki-ross
- Here is a short step-by-step approach I would do if I was going into the freelance space...1. Get clear on what I would like to do and for whom. If you have any work in experience you can look back at the type of projects and clients you worked on that set your soul on fire.2. Get clear on the money. What is the minimum you need to earn each month to be financially "Okay". This is context determined. Once you got that number, you can work out which product/services is viable to start out with.3. Get chatting with as many people as you can in the space you would like to work in. The more people know your name and how you can make their lives easier the better for you.Lastely, I would be agile in my approach. The more you work the more you will know what works and what doesn't. You can align yourself accordingly. This is very broad and there is a lot more to consider but this is a great start. Don't overthink it and simply start with one - one client, one project, one pricing strategy, one marketing strategy.
- Getting stuck into community and being active is a great way to start. Post on LinkedIn, reply to comments and comment on other people's posts. Join something like Leapers or Being Freelance and be an active and valuable member. Don't wait for people to ask questions or invite you either - just get stuck in and engage! It's done wonders for me, personally and in business, and I've found a couple of really fantastic clients through it. Don't expect a quick fix though - these things take time!
- @Annabelle Baugh Hi Annabelle, I will drop you an email. Thanks

- I am looking for guest writers for my site - this is an unpaid opportunity, however, a great chance to promote yourself to plastic surgeons who are always looking for content writers. email me at annnabelle@cosmeticsurgeryadvancements.com if you want to set up a meeting
- Happy to schedule in a chat Sarah
- Great question @Sarah Forster, I've just sent you a DM!
- Not something that can be summed up on this short space. I started posting last week on linkedin once a week "insights" for starting freelancers in art/design/motion.You can follow those, and hit me up if you have more questions.
- @John Oyewole Thanks John! Good idea around highlights and learnings I'll look to add this.
- I would try and work with as many brands or people as possible. It might be for free at first.Post your best highlights and a bio (what went well, what you did, what you learnt) on social, media, linkedin and here of course.Sooner than you think you will find a lane and paid work.
