In these terrible times how can young creative people affirm themselves in the fashion industry?

  • @Priya Matadeen thanks for your reply. I will try my best! Next thing on my checklist is a trip to London :)
  • Hi Danilo
I would say don't underestimate the power of your collective and your peers at this time to affirm why its important to be a young creative in the fashion industry. It's easier than trying to do this on your own, but as a group you can celebrate and focus on how to support each other and listen to each other at this time. Nothing has been as important to me at this time as the power of community. Hope that helps

  • @MC Barnes true! Luckily I never compared myself to anybody because my parents since I was a child never tried to make me competitive. I still get that sparkle when I read vogue and I miss buying Italian vogue (I’m from Italy) now that I live in the UK. Hopefully when all of this ends I want to get back to do shoots and create moods. Meanwhile I’m doing looks on myself. The only thing I lack is the knowledge of how to create a connection and I feel I need to search more to improve this aspect. Thanks for your answer!
  • Hi Danilo, I would say to return to what you are passionate about within the fashion industry. Return to what initially sparked your interest in fashion. If we continue to look on Instagram and see what everyone is doing, it sometimes can deter us from growing because we are constantly comparing ourselves to others. But if we remember why we got started in something, and continue doing small amazing personal projects, hopefully it will reaffirm why we are in something, and why we are passionate about these things. Creating a strong foundation within ourselves is so important :)
  • Hi Danilo,

Belief and trust in the process regardless of the circumstance; quality & talent usually finds a way... a little luck doesn’t hurt either. Most of all, we must be patience and enjoy the journey. Stay safe and healthy.

Follow us @more_clothing_and_apparel. We will follow you back. We want to connect with various creators, artist, and influencers as we grow our company.

If you're interested, we would love to setup a voice or video call to discuss how we could support each other.

Looking forward to connecting with you.

  • @Danilo Barone I’ve been spending a lot of time on here, contacting current connections and asking if they can connect me with others, also trying to get twitter working for me finally. Using Instagram to find connections too, and loads of speculative cvs. Just spending as much time looking for opportunities, and being creative about how to undertake them, given the restrictions. Obviously that may be slightly more difficult as a make up artist, as your work relies very much on physical location, but I think it would need to create the change to put our work. I hope this inspires you!
  • @Haylee Campbell amazing! What are the best ways to increase your connections in your opinion?
  • I’m working harder than ever to make sure I come out of this with more skills, more experience (remotely) and more connections through digital networking.
