Is an online portfolio necessary when I already have Behance, Dribbble, The Dots etc... ? I'm considering setting one up.
The main bone of contention is paying yet another subscription service for something that so far has been only slightly less personalised but free elsewhere.

- @Jennifer HayashiThank you, this is an angle I hadn't quite grasped! I think I'll take this advice along with @JulianHartley above and go Adobe.
- If you have Behance it's really easy to set up a site with Adobe Portfolio - choose a template, import your content, I use that on huskdesign.com and it has all the functionality I need.
- I would say yes... Having just one point of reference for an employer to look at is super helpful for designers. Behance, Dribble, The Dots are great but you don't control the narrative of how your work appears as much as a simple site that has your work on it, and you've designed how it is shown. Hope that helps! It's still great to be on other platforms for people to discover you btw. That's why I'm on all of them, but I have my portfolio as my site for ease and because it makes my work stand out rather than someone clicking through to another designers work :P
