Looking for recommendations on free/cheap digital illustration softwares - I'm not a pro and don't want to spend a fortune on Illustrator.

- Affinity Designer is around the 50$ mark. Heard good things about it!
- If you’ve got an iPad Pro - procreate is £10 and very Good - similar time photoshop and you can export as .psd files
- Pixelmator for Apple is good, but not free. About £25 if I remember correctly. Lots of tutorials, too.
- If you own an ipad, Procreate is pretty cheap to start with. Adobe fresco (basic version) is also good to begin with apart from Adobe draw.
- Although it's not free, Clip Studio Paint is a far better alternative and a lot, lot cheaper then any Adobe products.
- Rubi has just mentioned Autodesk Sketchbook and it is free as I know so far. Get Affinity if you need something Adobe-similar and cheaper for a life. :)
- If you have an iPad, I use Adobe draw which allows you to design in vectors, meaning even as page size changes, the quality won't change when you’re designing. For something closer to fine art, I used Autodesk Sketchbook which has a massive amount of realistic brushes
