Looking for recommendations on free/cheap digital illustration softwares - I'm not a pro and don't want to spend a fortune on Illustrator.

  • If you own an ipad, Procreate is pretty cheap to start with. Adobe fresco (basic version) is also good to begin with apart from Adobe draw.
  • Although it's not free, Clip Studio Paint is a far better alternative and a lot, lot cheaper then any Adobe products.
  • If you have an iPad, I use Adobe draw which allows you to design in vectors, meaning even as page size changes, the quality won't change when you’re designing. For something closer to fine art, I used Autodesk Sketchbook which has a massive amount of realistic brushes
