Please share one thing you've learned about yourself this year, and one thing you are grateful for.

  • I've learnt that if you don't ask you don't get! It never hurts to ask for something just to try your luck for whatever it is you're going after (e.g. pay rise, job opportunities, training courses). Even if it ends up being a no - there's nothing lost :)
  • I've learnt that I find it difficult to be assertive. I've always been comfortable creating, but less so with actually getting my work out there and connecting with people. It's given me a whole new element to work on!

I'm grateful for the time I've had to slow down and enjoy things that I never used to prioritise.
  • @Ryan Young Yes! I've gotten back into my yoga practice, and it has certainly eased a lot of my anxiety. More cardio would be awesome, but I cannot work out with a mask, mandatory in South Africa.
  • Great question, and it's come up a lot today, I have finally found the confidence ( crippling self -doubt linger still) to put myself out as an artist and have since been incredibly blessed to be working with two incredible companies. Started curating for my own gallery alongside my husband who is a chef, so cafe & gallery vibe. Oh, and I have been negative all of this time too.
  • I've learnt how important exercise is for me and how it really can lift me. Working out can be extremley hard to enjoy or get into (I was one of those), but I wish everyone could experience the natural high that one get's after working out, even a ten minute workout! :) Happy New Year everyone!
  • I've learnt that time is precious and we should utilise the giftings and skills we have to our highest potential to inspire and let others know that they have what it takes to be successful. I am grateful for the consistency that my business, Authentic Worth has shown during this pandemic and being able to help authors turn their ideas into books.
  • I learned that time was precious. Kept in touch with family. Finished quite a few jobs on my to do list. Got back to my hobbies, refurbished my cushions, gave my rag doll (over 50 years) a modern make over, digital art and many more. This made me thankful for what I have.
  • I have learned my mental health is extremely important. Your physical body is linked to your mental health, both work as one. I've sought help that i've needed for too long, and finally on a road to recovery. I'm grateful for my doctor, my partner and my counsellor for getting me to where I need to be.

2020 sucks, but eventually it will get better.

    Happy Christmas all! :)
  • I learned we have blind spots, things we need to change but we cant see them. This intrigued me to ask why cant we see them. The answer came not by seeing with our eyes but our ears and listening when people give us honest feedback. I am so greatfull and have finaly learned eyes, ears open mout shut. This I am so greatfull for also every moment here.

    Thank You For Reading This.
  • I need to be patient with myself and others, greatful for my family of course and for all the people supporting my artwork :)
  • This year I learnt how truly determined and strong I am and I’m very grateful for the friends and family that have supported me ( cheesy I know but it’s true).
