- @Nabihah Parkar oh and of course it depends on your normal working hours but Muslims will not want to be working around the time of the iftar meal which is when we break our fast. The time differs in each country but will be around the time of sunset
- @Caroline Bottomley to answer your other questions, one thing to bear in mind with colleagues/employees is the level of tiredness. Most people fasting won't say anything but as we are often awake later for prayers and wake up to eat in the middle of the night, it does mean that throughout the month you feel more tired. Some Muslims will also be more conscious to pray on time so this might mean they are taking 2-3 short breaks in the afternoon to do so. In terms of travel, there's no restrictions here and it comes down to each person. Hope that helps :)
- @Caroline Bottomley yes Ramadan Kareem is also a very common way to say it :) there are more depending on the culture too, for example some South East Asian cultures will pronounce Ramadan as 'Ramzan' making it 'Ramzan Mubarak/Kareem'
- Excellent article btw! Also, I'm sure I heard another phrase on the radio - Ramadam Kareem. Is this a thing?
- Hi NabihahlThanks for asking. I'd like to know if there are observances around Ramadan that relate to work and if there are things I should be sensitive about. For instance are there times when it's not OK to work, or take transport?
