So I’ve just taken a look at my year so far on quickbooks. I’ve just taken over a third of my normal income 🫣
I knew it had been a tough year so far but I didn’t realise just how tough it had been.
Speaking to my peers within the same freelance industry, they are all saying the same. It’s been bleak.
So for others of you out there feeling the crunch - you are by no means alone 💜

- I also think everyone and their Nan thinks they can be a graphic designer and illustrator, just like Rob has mentioned - which is totally not the case! I really hope things pick up for you Katie, we need all the talent we have in the country!

- Hi Katie, yeah seems like second half of this year the wheels have grinded to a halt. I think it’s related to 2 things…1. The depressing state of our economy and political decisions affecting businesses and their budgets2. The impacts of AI and automation software devaluing our skill and today more easier than ever for someone to produce something that resembles a logo or a piece of social content on canva (without understanding the impact on their brand identity).
