What do you think of Upwork? A good place to get freelance work? Or not worth the bother?

- You may need to weed through a lot of low-paying proposals to get to the more interesting and better-paying work but overall it is a good site to use when building up your portfolio, etc.
- It is a good site. It is indeed, hard at first to get approved as some fields of work alreayd have too many proposals, but if you already have a client that is willing to bring you onboard on Upwork - this can be made easier (there is an option of "bring your own freelancer", once a client pays you and the subsequent Upwork fees, then easier to get accepted :)). One other thing is that you have to "swim" through some terrible work proposals at 2-5 USD/hour... but that is not so hard to do :)
- I think it's good but really hard to get going with initial work when you first sign up.
