What's your view on TikTok as an artist?
Do you guys find that TikTok helps your art career, in terms of clients and commissions?

- @Joana Mehou yes! I heard that indeed it’s switching more to video a while back.Thank you for your feedback. It’s very helpful! :)
- @Eleni Vamvakopoulou but you can be smart about posting there. It doesn’t have to be exhausting. You can automate posting. Regarding the video format, I do not know if you’re aware but Instagram is turning full reels and is kind of putting pictures at the back of the app. It has started in few countries already.
- @Eleni Vamvakopoulou sure, I contacted 3 designers there and made a « Scouting » list.
- @Emile The Illustrator I agree it can be time consuming. It feels that these days social media and videos are 70% of the time and only 30% is drawing and everything else. What's the average time you spend on social?
- @Joana Mehou As an art director do you find artists/talent via social media? which platforms do you use?
- @Luke Freeman That's very interesting to day. So you don't think that social media are essential to show your work and for people to get to know you as an artist and a person?
- Not a fan of design infleucers, find them uneducated when it comes to talking about design, type design especially. Feel it’s a misuse of a career to seek social media fame.
- I used to be « meh tiktok » but honestly I have learnt so much from there. It’s more about the artists, designers and other people who show their work and teach you incredible things. It is raw, there’s no « trying to be too perfect » type of thing. People do get their business growing there. And the algorithm is not as unhealthy as Instagram is, for now. Then of course it’s not all pretty I think, but once you hit tiktok for real, Instagram is kind of of the past.
- I use reels more than tik-tok, but find video a pretty time consuming task when I'd rather just draw. Bit frustrating to please the trends and algorithm that way!
