Who is aware of companies that still hire remote. I just question this as most of The Dots community is not in Australia and I'd like reassurance that I will be able to transition international in 5 years time. Not looking for work. just curious as to the international work opportunities.

  • @Laura Hurst Thank you so much. This does give me the confidence that my future plans are not as uncommon as I thought.
  • Hey Angelina,

My partner did a bit of freelance writing work for a client he found on LinkedIn. After about six months they offered him a full time position: we're in the UK and the company is based in Colorado. The team has grown a lot since then, with the team based out of the US, Canada and the UK. They always have been 100% remote, and it works extremely well for them.

Hopefully this gives you some confidence that it wil be in your future!

    All the best,
    Laura
  • @Angelina Raisa It's definitely possible now! I think the world has woken up to remote working since the pandemic. :-) Good luck with everything!
  • @Abigail Baldwin Thank you so much Abigail, that is very helpful advice. My longterm goal is to work in the UK and around Europe in the much later future so picking up remote work and becoming more internationally present is something I aspire to when I begin to look for work again.
  • @ɐɹoᗡ ɐuu∀ ˥ Thank you Lanna, I agree, A new era is coming and remote working is more common than ever. Thank you for taking time to respond
  • Hi Angelina,

As for as we know yes the world is moving in the direction of remote workin, flexible hours, offices etc.. Also, if you have a particular creative talent / style that is something people would always willing to take that few extra hustle that given by remote.

However if you are interested in to know particularly the permanent opportunities (what will be also less in the future, shared economics is coming) I would say there is a pattern that people looking for people who are in the same time zone.
  • Hi Angelina! I really recommend taking a look at: https://remotive.io/ :-) There are a lot of US companies that are hiring remote talent. It's definitely catching-up here in the UK too.
