Would a University degree be more credible then a year of different work experiences

  • Hello Isabel,

Tbh I don't think you really need what they teach on University - I went to one of the best school, paid so much for it and frankly I could have found all the knowledge I gained there in Google if I really wanted to. However some companies asking for a degree, it still seems like a gate keeper.

In case of working experience I would say yes it would help you more both personally and professionally, just be sure it's in a healthy environment so you don't get a burn out and still have energy to focus on your subject area in your freetime.
  • I feel that university gives space to experiment and meet lots of people but often it does not give the practical experience you would get in a job. I'd say both have very different qualities. That said it's always up to what we make of these. If you decide on the university, I would recommend making the most of the facilities, mentorship, lectures etc. Get as much in as possible.
