Would love to make a hard hitting doc or film about race, but a hard hitting one that really gets into the impact and reason with racism’s
It needs to show the real impact behind racism, on how stupid it is and the effects it has on black people mental health. It needs to be very open so people who thinks that just saying “wow that is really sad” when they see something bad happen to black or brown people on tv that jus feeling bad is not enough that actually changing how you see race that just because it don’t effect you that u can still stand and help to make a real change.

- Sounds like a great project. Definitely interested
- @Aara Syed hi can we talk?
- This sounds amazing, I feel like we need waay more programmes about the link between racism and mental health! I would definitely watch this documentary. I have some experience editing videos, writing scripts, editing audio and managing social media...if any of that would be of use let me know!
- @Alexandra (Lexy) Hearth same with me, just want to make this in away that it really makes people think both blacks and white plus other races
- @Sally Fenaux Barleycorn thank you will defo look into that book
- I'm really interested (irritated) in the narrative around emotion with black people. This portrayal of the "angry black woman", where it's positioned as a negative character trait, rather than a legitimate human reaction to circumstance.
- Sounds good and I like projects that have a meaningful impact. I’ve made a doc before for a different topic and the process is rewarding and takes a lot of planning. Mental health is also something that is close to home. What was the driving force for this idea? Is it something you’ve observed or have you personally experienced certain things if you don’t mind.
