I have worked on and off in the media for three years while completing a degree in journalism, engaging in print, online and broadcast journalism.
Previously I have worked for local media , performing tasks related to distribution and social media while writing articles. I have also freelanced as a blogger.

- Globify magazine: A university projectIn the third year of my degree I had to work as part of a small group to create a full print magazine issue, website and accompanying business model. We chose to produce a magazine about the arts and international politics. It was a great experience and we are very proud of the print magazine and its accompanying website.

- Insula MagazineWhen Covid-19 hit the UK and we went into lockdown, like many people, I was furloughed from my job. I decided I wanted to create a platform for myself and other creatives to stay motivated, provide some sort of escapism, as well as, give back to all those key workers who are risking their lives for us. Insula Magazine features work from film makers, illustrators, writers, fashion stylists. musicians and more. The project has been successful so far with the magazine reaching the fundraising targe

When my plans were put on hold in early 2020 due to the pandemic and I saw a post looking for volunteer writers for a new magazine (Insula) I decided I had some free time, so might as well contribute to the not-for-profit magazine. Since writing for this magazine that raised funds for Brighter Futures, I have written a range of pieces such as, a blog post discussing eco anxiety, and a personal story on the racism I have experienced at multiple international borders.

This undergraduate degree taught me journalism theory by teaching us the history of journalism, ethics and politics which we we applied through practical work, such as working in small groups to create an entire magazine in third year to producing radio and tv news programmes in the final two years.
