  • Hi Arlo,
If you are a photographer than photos should be central stage in your website. The carousel in the landing page doesnt put your work in the right light. I would have them bigger and use a scrolling page with all your most relevant photos in different formats.
  • @Kelly Ratcliffe thanks kelly, agreed with what you’ve said and the connections between things & pages for business is something i’ll brainstorm a little bit now. i appreciate it
  • @James Oaten thanks for the feedback james! understood completely, i’m still trying to find out which target audience would be best for me, hence why it’s all a bit jumbled at the moment. sometimes it is harder than you think haha, will have a think through and would love to discuss some of this further soon
  • Hi Arlo - great site!
I also have to agree with James in the sense that it isn't quite so clear what you want to offer.
I'd say if you wanted to offer portraits (great for clients/models etc) it would be good to have a section specific to portraits, with a call to action on how to book (be it a small button to the contact page or your deposit offerings) to guide users to get in touch for pricing.
I'm no expert but have a Vide portfolio site, and have a few lines explaining my three specialties/passions with icons, which makies it clear what I enjoy capturing.

Feel free to ping me any questions - I myself am getting more into the photography side of things lately!
  • Absolutely nothing wrong with your work - you've got no problems at all taking good photos.

The question I ask myself when I look at your site though is what kind of work do you want to be doing? Is it music photography, project work, portraits or something else? I hate to sound cynical and commercial, but your website is what potential commissioners will see when they're deciding whether to hire you or not, and I think what I'd ask if I were in that position is what it is that you do? My own website is actually a great example of how *not* to do it - I have portraits, lifestyle and... cycling...? I know that can confuse people.

Happy to have a conversation if you want to talk in more detail.
