Welcome to the next Agile Reading meetup! Our mission is to grow the Agile community in Reading and share new trends and techniques in the Agile world. Join us for this month’s Agile Reading meetup, where Ann Bergin, Agile Software Developer at the Royal Society of Chemistry in Cambridge, will take us on a journey of cultural diversity and sense-making. In this talk, Ann will bring us on a virtual sense-making trip around the world using language and the Cynefin framework to help us find better ways to communicate complex concepts between diverse groups. She will present us with “untranslatable” words and expressions in various languages to outline how different cultures communicate in metaphor. About Ann
For the past six years Ann Bergin has been working in systems support and Agile software development for scientific journals, publishing at the Royal Society of Chemistry in Cambridge. She has a DPhil in Physical Chemistry from the University of Oxford. Her Agile journey began with Kanban when she was a graduate student, and has most recently moved to encompass Cynefin and Wardley mapping. Ann is also interested in neurodiversity in tech, and is proudly and openly dyslexic. ----- Schedule 17.45: Icebreaker 18.00: Intro 18.10: Untranslatables – The Complexity Of Culture And Language, Ann Bergin 19.15: Q&A 19.30: Close ----- We look forward to seeing you there!
