The latest in the Art Unlocked series. Join Art UK and the Wellcome Collection in exploring artworks from their collection.

About this event
Art Unlocked is an online event series brought to you by Art UK in collaboration with Bloomberg Philanthropies. Each week, different museum and gallery curators and directors from across the UK will deliver a 30-minute talk on selected works from their collection.
For our latest talk, join Art UK, William Schupbach, Research Development Specialist (Visual Culture) and Sophie Schneider, Graduate Trainee, Exhibitions, for an exciting exploration of some notable works from this collection on 5th April 2023, 5:30pm. In this talk, you will find out more about the Wellcome Collection. Although they might be the largest single-venue collection on Art UK, they do not use the word ‘art’ in the description of their collection!
Art Unlocked is delivered over Zoom Webinar and can be accessed via the event page once you have registered. There will be a short Q&A session after the talk.
The talk is free but there is the option to donate to Art UK with your ticket. Any donations are greatly appreciated.

About the Wellcome Collection
Wellcome Collection is a free library-and-museum open to the public in London, created and endowed by the pharmaceutical manufacturer Henry S. Wellcome (1853-1936). Its online catalogue currently contains about 650,000 items, including books, drawings, films, manuscripts, paintings, prints, photographs and other media, formed around the theme of health and human experience. Its holdings are drawn from every continent, and range in time from ancient Egyptian papyri to contemporary zines. Since 1990 it has been digitising its holdings to make them more widely accessible.
You can follow the Wellcome Collection on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

About Art UK
Art UK is a cultural education charity on a mission to make the art in UK public collections accessible to everyone – for enjoyment, learning and research.
We are bringing together the nation's art on one platform for the world to see. We digitise artworks, tell the stories behind the art and create exciting opportunities for public interaction with art. We play a major role in supporting public art collections, by improving their accessibility and sustainability.
