ABOUT PAWEŁ AND HIS TALK
"In 2020 the only pieces of information that I took seriously were memes. Our art messages are transforming more and more into memes in order to cope with the reality for which art academies do not prepare. A conversation about money at an art academy does not exist. Students are mainly prepared to constantly overproduce art, despite a lack of basic goods. The art market is largely a mystery to them and the Polish government's support and awareness of art importance is a joke. Do we have the right to complain? Or maybe we have to accept, that an artist has to be hungry and unhappy to create?"
Paweł Franciszek Jaskuła was born on the 25 January 1993 in Poznań. He’s a visual artist and a painter. In 2015-2017 he was an assistant to prof. Józef Walczak. In his artistic practice, he merges philosophy, sociology, astronomy, and physics. Since 2019 he’s part of a science & art group Eclipse de Sol focusing on solar eclipses. Creator of the 1/30 Podcast. Currently, as a student of photography at the University of Arts in Poznań, he’s creating a project about gold, value, and work conditions of young artists.
