In this workshop we'll be learning the basics of Lino Printing with Megan Dobbyn. Megan is a freelance illustrator living in Leeds. A lot of the work Megan creates centres around natural habitats and themes with a rooted interest in folklore and storytelling. Although Megan is inspired by Yorkshires natural environment - magic and imagination play a key part in bringing her work to life. As well as illustration, Megan organises and teaches community art sessions as she is interested in the way art can be taught to give people a voice and empower them to express themselves and fight for positive changes.
**We will be starting the workshop with design, moving onto cutting tips and tricks followed by printing cards for Easter**
Each year we encourage people to give the gift of art instead of Easter eggs and this year is no exception with our campaign #giftartnoteggs . With homemade Easter cards, it'll give friends and family a keepsake of your artwork and a lasting reminder of what they mean to you. Whilst chocolate is wonderful (and we all love a bar or three of it in the office), excessive consumption and the increase in packaging is also worthwhile consideration for our planet. So this year, why not give the gift of your art instead of eggs!
