We are thrilled to be hosting Rusty Egan - the celebrated musician, producer and club promoter at the heart of the UK music scene for four decades. We’ll showcase two videos including Rusty’s new single When We Were Young and talk about his forthcoming documentary BLITZED - covering the New Romantic movement from its origins in London in 1979 to present day devotees.
Rusty started out playing drums with Glen Matlock in the Rich Kids. He DJed at the legendary New Romantic club Blitz in 1979 - alongside bands like Spandau Ballet and Duran Duran. He opened The Camden Palace with Steve Strange and produced for Spear of Destiny, Shock, Visage and The Senate.
In 2017, Rusty released his first solo album, 'Welcome to the Dancefloor' featuring Midge Ure, Tony Hadley and Peter Hook. He followed up with Rusty Egan Presents Welcome to the Remix Vol I and Vol II.
Rusty remixed U2’s 2018 Album tracks Love is Bigger Than Anything In Its Way and Summer of Love and compiled a soundtrack to BLITZED with tracks from the Blitz Club era and new young synth acts Tiny Magnetic Pets of Dublin and We Are Brando - signed to Boy George’s label. Rusty’s new album, 'The Soundtrack' will be released on March 12th. The new single: Rusty Egan Presents Catwalk (Around the World) with additional remixes, will follow on March 19th.
