Simone is a designer and artist who talks with clarity about legacy, voice and colour in all senses of the word. Her work uses colour to tell stories and to identify a clear narrative about who she is, as a woman, a creative practitioner and craftsperson. This talk, hosted by Jemima Burrill curator of NOW Gallery, will look at the colour connections Simone draws on and how different materials can change the perception of a design.

Through jewellery, painting, sculpture and furniture, Simone will discuss her inspirations, her creative thought process and her ongoing manifesto about the importance of placing objects with care in the world. We will explore how Simone works to a brief, maintaining her own point of view whilst creating a considered, timeless and touching work to be enjoyed by all.

This talk is the third instalment of a new four-part series of online conversations taking place on Zoom with artists, designers and creative practitioners interrogating our relationship with colour and in turn how it shapes our experiences and environment. Liz West will be talking with Kaia Charles on 6th April at 6.30pm.
