Join us online to explore how creatives in Scotland are working with AI, and what support they need to develop further.

About this event
Do you use or are you interested in using Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning for creative purposes?
Through its Creative AI Demonstrator project, Creative Informatics is looking to explore the potential for Creative AI in Scotland. We will use data and insight gathered at this workshop to understand how best to invest resources to support innovation in AI / machine learning.
We'd love you to join this workshop if:
  • You use AI (machine learning, neural nets, deep learning) at any stage in the creative process
  • You work in the arts and are interested in working with AI
  • You are bringing AI into your creative practice
  • You are developing new products or ideas with AI
We particularly welcome participants with a range of diverse perspectives who are undertaking creative work or running creative businesses that use data and new technology.
As a thank you for your time and expertise, every workshop participant will receive a £25 voucher.
Draft schedule
This workshop will be held online over zoom, and follow the following format:
  • Welcome and introduction to the Creative AI Demonstrator Project
  • Presentation about current work on Creative AI
  • Activity One: Designing an AI project / tool
  • Reporting & Discussion: Key ideas
  • Break (15 minutes)
  • Activity Two: Resources needed to support Creative AI work in Scotland
  • Reporting & Discussion: Key ideas
  • Reflections and wrap-up
This workshop is part of Creative Informatics Creative AI Demonstrator Project, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) and the Department for Culture Media and Sport (DCMS), to explore the potential for using AI, and specifically Creative AI, in the creative industries in Scotland.
