Blu-Label: Carbon Labelling for Fashion. What is it and why is it important?

Over 100 Billion fashion products are produced each year and the global fashion industry is responsible for 2.1Billion Metric tons of CO2e. Fashion consumers have little understanding of the impact of their wardrobe on the environment, with limited knowledge as to the carbon footprint of the fabrics used and the garment journey.

Blu Label believes that consumers need a carbon label on all clothing that shows the carbon footprint at retail, helping them to choose better for the planet. Lavinia Fernandes, CEO of Blu-Label, will share with us the existing methods for measuring carbon on clothing, demonstrating how they are flawed and can be confusing for consumers, highlighting why it's empirical to show the full lifecycle impact of our clothes and to provide a clear communication on climate impacts.
