Organised by The Photography Foundation
Join a relaxed evening talk at our North Greenwich Studio to hear about early career journeys in the photography industry.
About this event
Join us for our brand new series of talks with our very own alumni!
These talks are aimed to spotlight and support emerging photographers in the early stages of their careers, and create a safe space to connect with other emerging creatives.
This engaging talk will offer a unique opportunity to hear firsthand about Ebony Louise Barrett's experiences, challenges, and successes navigating the creative industry. After the talk you will have a chance to socialise and connect with fellow attendees.
Our six-month commercial photography Training Programme provides a supportive and inspiring environment where people aged 18-25years old to take their professional photography skills to the next level, develop a commercially-focused portfolio tailored to their career goals, and grow their independent voice whilst gaining practical experience. More info about the training programme here.
Ebony Louise Barrett(she/her/they) is a creative director and fashion photographer from London. She is also founder and editor of Japanese fashion magazine BonBon - a publication for kawaii enthusiasts and lovers of cute culture in the West. Her work is a candy coloured reflection of her own experiences being a queer, neurodiverse woman in a world where individuals like her live on the edges of society. She aims to encourage black and brown minorities to reclaim their experiences and not be afraid to step into their softness in a world with such sharp, serrated edges. BonBon's motto is 'to be kind is to be truly kawaii' because one cannot dress cute and possess a rotten attitude!
The Photography Foundation was created to provide pathways to professional photography for less advantaged young adults in London by offering education, practical experience, and routes to a career in the creative industries. The Photography Foundation acknowledges that commercial photography can be a stressful career and feel isolating at times. Our events are intended to promote wellbeing and the importance of making time for inspiration and creativity in your practice in order to maintain a sustainable career.
