Join us for a panel talk on how to break into styling with Sophia Neophitou and Dan May, moderated by Tamsin Blanchard.

About this event
Clothes aren't just clothes; they're an art form, they're expressive, they're fun. If that resonates with you, chances are you've thought about a career in styling...
But there's more to being a stylist than just having a good eye. There are practical questions to ask yourself: Will you choose personalities, music videos, editorials or working with brands? Do you want to do look books or shows? How will you collaborate? How do you build trust? How do you build a cult reputation and keep it?
And even then, how do you get there? You need to learn the ropes, build relationships, identify your collaborators and get stuck in.
Join us as we ask the experts. As EIC of 10 Magazine and Creative Director of numerous prolific fashion houses, self professed fashion fiend Sophia Neophitou is one of the most stylish names in the biz.
Co-hosting the panel is ex Style Director for Mr Porter, now freelance and Creative Director of SMR Days, Dan May. His well dressed roster include the likes of Eddie Redmayne and Jamie Dornan, proving that he most certainly has his finger on the pulse.
The fashion forward duo will be moderated by journalist Tamsin Blanchard.
Pull up your socks, let's get to work.

About Sarabande Foundation
Sarabande was set up by the late designer, Lee Alexander McQueen, who left the majority of his estate to support creative and visionary talent. In addition to providing scholarships and studio space for artists, Sarabande produces a number of events, from the practical to the inspirational.
Sarabande operates from a listed Stable Block conversion in Haggerston, where 15 studios form a creative community with designers and artists from multiple disciplines. Immersed in the
hub of East London’s rich creative spirit, Sarabande exudes all that encompasses the creative sphere. The building is home to a plethora of artisans reflecting the multifarious span of Lee’s talent and the variety of craftspeople he worked with his own collections. Amongst others, our tactile artists include sculptors, fashion designers, jewellers, textile designers, painters, performance artists, silversmiths, costume designers, ceramicists, and dancers. Alongside these, Sarabande also houses filmmakers, animators, photographers, digital designers, and visual artists.
Please note that these events are being filmed and photographed for internal and commercial purposes.
Sarabande events are non-refundable and credits from your ticket purchase will be transferred to an event of your choice.
We would also love to keep you up-to-date with our monthly newsletter, which you can opt out of at any time. By attending these events you are accepting these terms.
Please also see our fire evacuation route here, which attendees will be expected to follow in the event of a fire.
