Join us for an inspiring debate with young activists about the causes they are fighting for, from plastic pollution to deforestation, as we discuss the importance of inspiring change.

Partner
Intelligence2
Intelligence Squared has established itself as the leading forum for live, agenda-setting debates, talks and discussions around the world. Their aim is to promote a global conversation that enables people to make informed decisions about the issues that matter, in the company of the world's greatest minds and orators.

Host
Yassmin Abdel Magied
Broadcaster, writer and social advocate. She is author of You Must Be Layla and contributor to the critically acclaimed essay collections It's Not About The Burqa and The New Daughters of Africa. She has travelled to over 24 countries across five continents, speaking to governments, civil society and multinational companies on inclusive leadership, tackling unconscious biases and achieving genuine cultural change.

Speakers:
Zamzam Ibrahim
Co-founder of Students Organising for Sustainability, Vice Chair of the Muslim Leadership Foundation and the former National President and Vice President of the National Union of Students. She has led work on tackling societal injustices, leading campaigns on climate justice, tackling racial injustice and abolishing the Prevent Duty. Zamzam has also been a leading voice on tackling climate injustice more specifically in the education system, with the goal of diverting attention away from the Eurocentric lens through which the climate crisis is currently portrayed.

Clover Hogan
21-year-old climate activist and the founder of Force of Nature, a launchpad helping Gen Z step up, rather than shut down, in the face of the climate crisis. Clover has worked alongside the world’s leading authorities on sustainability, mobilised mindsets in UK classrooms, and consulted within Fortune 500 boardrooms. She recently launched the Force of Nature podcast, a series interviewing ordinary people doing extraordinary things to save the planet.

Zaqiya Cajee:
Founder of Swopitup, a clothing exchange programme that runs in schools with a mission to educate young people about the impacts of fast fashion on the environment. She founded Swopitup at her school when she was just 15 and two years later she is coordinating a group of volunteers to run the initiative in schools nationwide. She works with a campaign group called Teach the Future that aims to reorient the entire education system around the climate emergency and ecological crisis. She also volunteers for Mock COP, an international youth-led project, mirroring that of COP26 (the UN Climate Change Conference), raising global awareness to tackle the climate crisis.
