The Buying Director reports to out Chief Product Officer to set and drive divisional strategy, working across all departments. Maintain a high-level overview to ensure key KPIs, sales and margin are achieved.
Set and drive Divisional product strategies to enhance ranges and drive sales and profit
Understand our brand and our customer in all our trading regions
Understand economic and social trends both anticipating and questioning their impact on the business
Lead brand handwriting in line with brand strategy to deliver beautiful, elevated styles, outfits, and ranges
Understand the retail landscape and ensure Boden remains relevant and competitive
Set innovative product strategy aligned with Creative vision to deliver sales growth across all markets
Capitalise on opportunities with speed
Be the expert on our customer and what she wants, train and coach teams to ensure in depth knowledge of our target customer and her lifestyle is second nature
Drive collaborative working across Design, Merchandising, Technical & Sourcing counterparts to ensure best range mix, sourcing approach & margin expectations are delivered
Lead team to dynamically trade departments, driving and capitalizing on opportunities to grow sales and profits strategically
Chase and mitigate risk where required, with speed
Take the lead with our Head of and Merchandising Director in trade sign off meetings with Senior Director and Chief Commercial Officer
With Head of and Merchandising Director ensure all trade communication to our founder and wider business is clear, timely, accurate and strategic
Lead Buying team to partner with Marketing to ensure key messages are communicated to the customer across the correct channel
Support trade actions in response to customer insight
Lead the team to develop the right supplier strategy, critical path, and target margin to deliver profit, flexibility, quality, and design
Be aware of global supply opportunities and global economic issues
Think strategically in the context of the global economy and landscape with a long-term view in mind to set business up for future growth and margin gain
