Your role @CHANEL:
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of merchandising strategies that align with our brand vision and business objectives. This is a crucial role in buying cycles, ensuring that the product assortment resonates with our target market, enhances the customer experience, and drives sales in line with top-down business priorities.
The position supports the Head of Merchandising with daily business operations, stepping in as second when required, and leveraging experience and expertise to guide and develop the Merchandising Team towards greater efficiency.  Additionally, this role manages a Merchandising Admin Assistant, focusing on their professional growth and ensuring all tasks are completed to the highest standard.
What impact you can create at Chanel:
  • Strategic Planning: Management of the Ready to Wear and SLG business with support of the Merchandising Admin Assistant, develop and implement comprehensive merchandising strategies aligning with global steering and target clients, through analysis and market trend awareness
  • Financial Planning: Use knowledge of field to guide financial sales planning, guiding OTB levels during buying cycles
  • Sales Analysis: Monitor and maximise sales performance to achieve target inventory levels, providing insights and recommendations to optimise business opportunities
  • Inventory Management: Work with supply chain to monitor deliveries ahead of collection launches and communicate to wider Fashion division, ownership of stock movements and diversions. Manage relationship with Distribution Team
  • Cross-Function Collaboration: Working closely with Retail, Training, Visual Merchandising and Marketing Teams to support and guide
  • Reporting:  Lead the monthly business review and guide team to complete Merchandising Reporting on a weekly, monthly and ad hoc basis (Collection Launches, Markdowns and wider business initiatives)
  • Market Awareness: Stay aware of market trends, competitor activity and positioning and client behaviours
  • Projects: Support Head of Merchandising on wider business projects such as Hero, Anaplan and Fashion BI Migration
  • Team Support: Support the Head of Merchandising as the next point of contact, motivating the Merchandising team and fostering a collaborate and high performing culture to improving efficiencies
