The next stage of Perlego is twofold: 1) expand our support to students and publishers globally, and 2) build a product that goes beyond the book, a platform that helps students study smarter and educators teach more effectively.
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic FP&A Lead to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial planning and analysis, with an ability to develop revenue forecasts, manage pricing strategies, and support long-term financial planning.
While an initial focus will be on B2B operations, this role will provide strategic financial insights across all business areas, ensuring comprehensive support for our company’s growth and financial health.
Ideally you will be comfortable dealing with ambiguity and have experience building financial models and processes from scratch. You will also have a strong commercial acumen and the ability to easily discuss complex financial concepts.
Collaboration: you will work closely with the Finance Director and the Financial Controller, acting as a strategic partner and supporting business functions across both channels (B2B and DTC).
Communication: You'll regularly interact with senior leadership, department heads, and technical teams to provide financial insights and drive strategic decisions.
Innovation: We value new ideas and will both encourage and expect you to propose and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability within our financial operations
Provide financial analysis and strategic support across all departments, with an initial emphasis on B2B
Develop financial models and forecasts to support revenue growth, pricing strategies, and market expansion
Collaborate with other functions, including R&D and technical teams, to evaluate the financial implications of their initiatives and business lines.
Develop and manage pricing strategies for various business segments.
Forecasting and Budgeting
Develop and maintain long-term financial forecasts and contribute to the overall revenue model, ensuring it encompasses all business activities.
Support overall financial forecasting and provide detailed reports to leadership, ensuring alignment with company goals.
Develop scenarios to better understand the complex relationships in our business and evaluate the commercial implications and identify trade-offs of various business actions
Financial Reporting and Analysis
Oversee financial reporting and performance management, including revenue, margin, and key metrics
Conduct scenario-based analysis to support strategic planning and decision-making across the organisation
Build and maintain models for ad-hoc requests and special projects, including financial analyses and ROI assessments
Lead initiatives to improve financial processes and systems cross functionally.
Implement and maintain financial processes across the company, including global standardisation, template creation, and group reporting alignment.
It’s perfect if you have:
Minimum 5 years in commercial finance, FP&A, or similar roles, with significant experience in B2B financial planning and analysis.
Proven expertise in developing and managing financial models for B2B revenue forecasting and pricing
Advanced Excel skills, including experience with large datasets and complex financial analysis
Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate financial insights into actionable business strategies
Experience in developing board presentations and financial reports
⭐️ It’s a plus if you have:
Experience with Xero, Hubspot, Thoughtspot or Causal
Previous experience working with both DTC and B2B SaaS businesses
ACA, ACCA or CIMA (or equivalent) qualified or qualified by experience
Previous involvement in scaling businesses and implementing best practices in FP&A processes.
What success looks like:
In 3 Months:
You have developed a clear understanding of our financial processes and are recognised as a key strategic partner across various business functions, contributing to company-wide financial planning and decision-making.
Complete review of financial models incl. revenue forecasting and pricing strategies to ensure aligned with strategic goals. Identified opportunities for growth and/or improvement and proactively driven these towards a decision.
You are confident and proficient with the internal tech stack. You have identified areas for system enhancements and have begun implementing improvements to support financial analysis and reporting.
You have contributed to the quarterly financial updates and provided valuable insights.
All financial metrics, including revenue, margins, and key performance indicators, are consolidated and aligned across B2B and other business segments. There is a unified approach to financial reporting and performance tracking.
Core financial processes have been standardised across departments, resulting in improved efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. You have successfully led initiatives to align financial reporting practices with global standards.
Proactively identify trends, opportunities, and risks to inform decision making.
