THE ROLE
Job Introduction
BBC News and Current Affairs are recruiting Production Management Assistants (London) to join the team and work across world class and high profile Long Form Documentaries and Investigations,  Outside Broadcasts and audio programmes.  Some of our key programmes include Long Form Audio (get some names) and Podcasts such as Newscast, Americast and Ukrainecast; Long Form Documentaries & Strands such as Panorama, Africa Eye, Arabic Investigations and BBC 2 and BBC 3 documentaries.
Main Responsibilities
The Production Management Assistant is an important role, providing organisational and logistical assistance to the production team/s – ensuring the smooth and efficient running of productions.  This includes production team travel arrangements, procurement, payments, facilities and locations bookings, copyright clearance and completing post production paperwork as well as monitoring production spend and equipment and dealing with various IT requests.
Are you the right candidate?
These are busy and varied roles and would suit those who are adaptable self-starters as well as:
  • Recent experience of working in TV documentaries or investigative current affairs programmes
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills with the ability to manage conflicting demands and work collaboratively across a diverse team
  • Demonstrates an understanding of TV, Audio and/or Digital Production processes and associated Equipment/Tech and payment systems
  • Knowledge of longform post production deliverables and paperwork on Silvermouse and Proteus
  • Experience of tracking spend and logging costs using cost monitors.

Contracts:  1 x Continuing and 1 x Fixed Term Contract to October 2025
Salary: Up to £28,800 + London Weighting : depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
