Data Management Lab (DML) department is responsible for supporting the development, enablement and implementation of data management best practices that enable the delivery of “ready-to-use” data.
As a project manager, you will be pivotal in the coordination of many enterprise-wide initiatives around data management. The day-to-day will vary, some days you may be providing quarterly updates to stakeholders or running scrum ceremonies. On other days, you may be meeting with internal partners to define cross-functional project requirements and client-facing deliverables. Your work will touch a multitude of domains across Bloomberg, covering many departments like Data, Product and Engineering.
Foster a collaborative environment by facilitating communication and coordination among cross-functional teams.
Work closely with stakeholders from different departments to understand their requirements, dependencies, and priorities.
Develop, document, and maintain detailed program plans.
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex, cross-functional programs.
Coordinate with team leads to optimize resource utilization and maintain a balance between project requirements and team capacity.
Monitor progress and manage risks throughout the program lifecycle, ensuring all milestones and deliverables are met on time and in-scope.
Provide regular updates to leadership and stakeholders on program status, including key metrics and milestones.
Conduct post-program analysis to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement.
Proven experience as a Project Manager, leading cross-functional teams in complex projects.
Strong understanding of functional areas within the organization, with the ability to translate business requirements into program objectives.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all organizational levels.
Demonstrated ability to drive results, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
Own communication complex topics with appropriate scope to varying audiences.
Manage multiple stakeholders, deadlines, and competing priorities.
Measure and report success and progress of complex long term systems and projects.
Project Management Professional (PMP), Scrum Master certification (CSM), or other relevant certifications are desirable.
Exposure to metadata systems, data modeling, Data Pipelines, semantic technologies, linked data and/or knowledge graphs.
Understanding of Data Governance and Data Management, supported by industry certifications (e.g. DAMA CDMP, DCAM, etc.)
Exposure to the Bloomberg Terminal and/or Enterprise data products.
Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC and Agile) methodologies and project management best practices.
Experience with collaborative design platforms, such as MIRO and FIGMA.
