Description

You will deliver a range of high-profile external and internal events for our stakeholders across Sky, that bring our content and products to life, delivering on business priorities. This is a pivotal role which is extremely varied, working in a challenging, fast paced and exciting environment.
What you'll do:
  • Building on existing and developing new stakeholder relationships.
  • Assisting with team planning and coordinating resource and workflow effectively.
  • Bringing new ideas and potential suppliers to the team.
  • Managing day to day supplier relationships, briefing suppliers, agencies and event staff and escalating issues to team Director.
  • Working through event briefs with stakeholders and assessing requirements.
  • Working on and presenting creative approaches and recommendations.
  • Planning of projects including timings, budgets, roles and responsibilities and leading on events.
  • Updating Events Director on key event milestones for feedback.
  • Implementing processes to ensure success.
  • Managing key logistical elements of event delivery including venue selection and recommendation, budget management, steering creative route for set-up and design, guest hosting, talent management and handling logistics between venues and suppliers, including AV.
  • Stakeholder and supplier debriefs.
What you'll bring:
  • 4 + years’ experience delivering a broad range of events within a major corporate or events agency environment.
  • Proven experience of managing at least one direct report.
  • Expertise in agency collaboration and management.
  • Credentials in troubleshooting with the ability to demonstrate strategic thinking when working on events of any scale, to create recommendations and solutions for problem solving.
  • Experience in the managing and tracking of event budgets efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and IT skills, experience in working with Microsoft 365 suite and SharePoint is preferable.
  • Proven track record in creation and delivery of projects and events from start to finish that are both consumer-facing, internal or external business-to-business.
  • Extensive & Comprehensive understanding of all event disciplines.
  • Good understanding of strategic planning
  • Well-organised and process-driven, good attention to detail, applying high level of standards.
  • Team player, working collaboratively and ability to work independently.
  • Approachable and able to develop relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to work on different projects at the same time, meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities.
  • Adaptability - managing a complex range of stakeholders, both internal and external, and navigating competing demands.
  • Good negotiator on budgets.
  • Good knowledge of event venues, excellent technical skills and ability to think creatively.
  • Good communication skills and confidence, operating with discretion.
  • Understands importance of best in class whilst channelling the business priorities and Sky values
  • Flexibility – due to the nature of the role, some evening and weekend work will be required.

The Events team forms part of External Affairs. We support the wider business by showcasing all that is great at Sky to our consumer, colleague and corporate audiences in live and virtual environments. Working closely with almost every department at Sky, we create innovative, sustainable and best in class events (e.g. Product and Press Launches, Leadership conferences, Content Premieres and Hospitality) to reinforce both the corporate narrative and deliver on the business objectives. We are considered brand guardians, helping to leverage campaigns and drive talkability about content, products and services.
