Description

We are looking for a Senior HR Business Partner to join our team and lead the Time Out Media people strategy across our multiple digital and physical channels that span websites, mobile, social media, videos and live events. You will be responsible for developing and implementing HR policies and practices that support our business goals and values, as well as ensuring compliance with relevant local laws and regulations. This is a true generalist role suitable to a confident and pro-active individual, who is comfortable challenging the conventional approach when required and is also willing to ‘muck-in’ and do operational tasks as and when necessary. We need someone who can adapt to our global idiosyncrasies and can support the Chief People Officer to make things happen.
You will oversee retention, performance management, compensation and benefits, employee engagement, and employee relations. You will partner closely with the Senior HR Business Partner based in New York and the Head of Talent Acquisition & Learning and Development, on hiring, learning and development strategy and execution, and our diversity and inclusion initiatives.
As the Senior HR Business Partner, you will report to the Chief of Staff/Chief People Officer, Time Out Group (based in London), working closely with the senior leadership team and other key stakeholders across the organisation.
You will also manage an HR Manager – APAC based in Sydney, an HR & Payroll Administrator based in London and manage the UK based facilities team (office and facilities manager and receptionist).
You and your team will be responsible for supporting 250 Time Out media employees in the following locations:
  • London
  • Sydney
  • Melbourne
  • Singapore

  • Madrid
  • Barcelona
  • Paris
  • Lisbon
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A minimum of 8 years of progressive HR experience ideally in a global media organisation, operating at a senior HRBP level for at least 3 of these.
  • A proven track record of designing and executing effective HR strategies that align with business objectives and drive performance and growth
  • A strong knowledge of UK employment law and best practices, as well as an awareness of international HR trends and issues.
  • A collaborative and influential leadership style that fosters trust, respect and engagement among diverse teams
  • A passion for city life and culture, and a commitment to Time Out's mission and values
  • Extensive experience partnering at all levels of the business including the C-Suite.
  • To be able to analyse data to determine trends, areas for improvement, and recommend and/or implement appropriate strategies.
  • To be able to develop plans for staff retention.
  • To play a lead role in the global talent review and talent development programs.
  • To engage with leadership to understand the holistic opportunities of commercial growth and development within the Division.
  • To use data (new hire, exit, engagement, leadership assessments) to identify key areas of development and create development plans to support leaders / leadership teams.
  • To meet regularly with senior leaders to provide feedback with a focus on growth and achievement of development goals.
  • To implement succession plans and ensure key talent has a development plan to focus on growth and retention.
  • Be able to coach leaders on management responsibilities as it relates to the people in their teams and to coach and advise staff and managers on matters regarding conflict resolution, relationship building, and effective communication.
  • You will have high energy and flexibility, fantastic communication skills, and huge amounts of drive.
  • You will be comfortable with high volume workload and not be afraid to roll up your sleeves.
  • You will have strong solutions focus and be comfortable working in an environment which demands strong deliverables. Ability to identify problems and drive appropriate solutions.
  • The ability to manage and develop your team, focusing on engagement and mentorship.
  • Experience of a partly unionised workforce would be good.
