About

Aether is an independently published arts, culture and fashion magazine. It’s goal is to provide a platform for talented young creatives and celebrate people of colour. Started in 2015 by Mia Sakai in West London, Aether has been growing steadily and is now printed bi-annually. Our demographic consists largely of students of the arts and young professionals in creative industries. Throughout the 15 issues, Aether has featured a plethora of outstanding work from a variety of young creatives from all artistic practices. We believe that print isn’t dead, and our aim is to bring our generation together through creating something real and tangible. For Aether’s 15th print issue, we collaborated with the wonderful Every Woman Biennal for the launch, creating a pop-up event in which we celebrated our favourite independent makers, inviting them to each exhibit and sell their work alongside us for the night. Issue 15 featured an amazing line-up of editorials and interviews, celebrating the glorious variety of art that has been featured in Aether over the past seven years along with a variety of brand new content. This included an interview and editorial with our cover star, Josie Man. In February 2022, Aether partnered up with Logitech for their POP event in which they were celebrating the launch of their new POP mouse and keyboards. We displayed some of our favourite works to celebrate the 7th anniversary as a publication, as well as had an Aether pop up shop where visitors could purchase copies and merch. On the 17th of March, Aether will exhibit as part of the International Women's Month zine library at the Creative Debuts x Adidas event. Make sure to come by and say hello as our founder Mia Sakai will be there to greet and network with you!
