Agora wants to help brands and creators reach the next generation of consumer where they are, mainly on social media platforms like TikTok. It enables customers to discover brands, creatives and boutiques that have a story to tell by pairing them with creators who can create authentic video content showcasing the products. Believing strongly on the rise of social commerce, the company is banking on the TikTok shopping phenomenon spreading to western markets. As a first mover in this space it is positioning itself to be a major player in helping brands take advantage of shoppable videos as a new and rapidly growing revenue stream. Agora is focused on building out its UK presence with the aim to expand to other European geographies more broadly in the next few years. Started by two members of the founding team of Lazada, a multibillion dollar Southeast Asian e-commerce business that was sold to Alibaba, they have the experience and industry knowledge to find a market fit for their product.
